EntropySoft Content Hub 5.2 Delivers Content Management Improvements Across the Organization

EntropySoftʼs New Release Includes Enhanced SharePoint Portal Integration with WebParts, CMIS And WebDAV Support, Microsoft Office Integration and More.

EntropySoft, the content integration company, today announced the availability of Content Hub™ 5.2 at IBM Information On Demand.
The new product release includes a number of new features to benefit content producers, users and ECM system managers and developers across the organization.

Out-of-the-box features for both the Professional and Enterprise Editions include SharePoint portal integration with web parts, Microsoft Office integration, CMIS and WebDAV support, clustering/failover, and UI and performance improvements. Built on
more than 40 EntropySoft Content Connectors™, Content Hub delivers centralized access to all document repositories whether on-site or in the cloud. It federates all content silos into one virtual repository shared by all applications so users can work and
search seamlessly. Content Hub 5.2 will be available for general release in November 2011.

“Content Hub 5.2 increases interoperability across the enterprise. New desktop integration and SharePoint portal web parts greatly enhance the end-user experience,” said Nicolas Maquaire, CEO and co-founder of EntropySoft. “Developers and IT will benefit by our increased support for CMIS, new process automation alerting capability, and numerous architectural and performance improvements.”

Content Hub Web Parts Connect SharePoint to 40+ ECM Systems
Content Hub brings content federation to Microsoft SharePoint by enabling access to more than 40 content management systems through EntropySoftʼs new web parts.

SharePoint users can access and work with the connected content management systems to create, modify or delete documents, change permissions and metadata in the 40+ supported systems (EMC Documentum, IBM FileNet, Oracle UCM, among others).

All this is done through a normalized SharePoint experience.
(more)Advanced federated search features are now available to SharePoint Enterprise Search to easily find documents in all the Content Hub connected repositories. SharePoint Enterprise Search can execute centralized search against all connected applications.
Since these applications have their own search engines, Content Hub can also execute a distributed search and send the results back to SharePoint.

Additionally, Content Hub manages the document processes needed to automate document transfers with other content management systems. For example Content Hub can manage archiving, records management and content distribution processes.

“We are pleased to turbocharge Microsoft SharePoint document management features with Content Hub,” said Raphael Jean, CTO and co-founder of EntropySoft. “Content federation, unified search and automated document processes are vital components required to make the most of any SharePoint deployment.”

WebDAV Protocol Support Content Hubʼs WebDAV protocol offers all desktop applications universal access to all documents stored in connected repositories. This is particularly useful for editing
documents. Users simply navigate in Windows Explorer to browse the connected repositories.

Support for CMIS AtomPub EntropySoft broadens it CMIS support to include AtomPub bindings in addition to the SOAP support, furthering its commitment to the standard. Many major industry players have adopted the CMIS standard based on its capabilities to ease general access to content repositories, and improve interoperability. Content Hub is the only available platform to deliver CMIS support to more than 40 applications.

Also New In Content Hub 5.2:
• Integration with Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010, easing the integration of ECM systems with Office.
• A new email alerting capability for synchronization reports.
• Support for application server clustering and load balancing to meet the performance and high availability needs of enterprise deployments.
• Continued UI and performance improvement begun in version 5.0. Using the open source Google Web Toolkit, the updated UI allows universal access to all repositories. Another feature lets power users manage content processes like synchronization and migration while browsing or searching against all connected repositories.
• Content ETL Studio, the process engine included in Content Hub Enterprise Edition, now includes better synchronization support and the ability to automatically detect all instances of Content Hub within an organization for even easier automation process management.
